Privacy Policy and Data Protection

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) came into force in May 2018.  Privacy Policies are not meant to be confusing or too wordy, so I intend to be as concise about it as possible.

Here at Old Oak Barn we don’t obtain your personal information apart from your name and email address if you email us in our normal Windows Mail inbox. A contact number is requested if you make a booking with us.

We have no database to store information. So if anyone requested to see your data we would have nothing to show them. We have no form as such on our website for you to complete - we simply ask you to email us direct in the normal way.

Your information will not be passed to third parties. SO when you get in touch with Old Oak Barn including to send an enquiry, by email to info@oldoakbarn.co.uk you agree to allow Old Oak Barn to reply to you on the email address given.

Personal information can be anything that identifies an individual, including but not limited to name, address, date of birth, marital status, contact information, financial records and credit information - but we never ask for this information apart from contact information necessary but only IF you make a booking.  If we use a photo on social media it is always with your permission but we rarely use images of any of our visitors.

Customer Service

We pride ourselves on going that extra mile to look after our visitors from the moment that first enquiry is made, while staying here and after they have departed. All messages and email are replied to personally by Charlotte. We will always get back to you pronto if you have any questions or queries. While staying we are on hand to assist in any way possible to make sure you have a wonderful holiday or break. We can unpack online groceries if they arrive before you! We can reserve a table at any restaurant. We can adjust the heating before arrival to suit preferences. We can put NO fresh flowers out if you are allergic. We always leave some fresh eggs and other small bunches of herbs or seasonal veg from our garden. Sometimes we leave fresh bara brith or mince pies. At Christmas you can decorate the fresh tree supplied or we can do it for you. We listen to what you want us to do to make sure you get the most out of staying here at Old Oak Barn. Over the years visitors have shown their appreciation in all sorts of ways and we really value the wonderful friendships we have made all over the world.  Diolch!

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

Old Oak Barn is approached by a newly resurfaced (2017) tarmac and stone lane 1/3 mile long.  Car parking for 2 cars is adjacent to the barn on gravel. But plenty of space for visitors at the bottom of the yard.  Normal arrival is after 2pm but sometimes we are ready sooner - please ask.

Main Entrance & Internal

A ramp leads onto the stone patio and there is one step up into the kitchen via the stable door 800mm wide
The barn is on one floor and is level except for one step up into each bedroom. Majority of floor is wooden but bedrooms have wool carpet and kitchen and bathroom are tiled – non slip in kitchen.

The bathroom has a bath with a good grip rail and a powershower over the bath.
The kitchen has integrated appliances ie fridge with small freezer apartment, dish washer, washing machine, oven and ceramic hob. Storage is plentiful. Table and chairs (4) plus high chair if needed.

The sitting room has comfortable seating for 4 people, a heavy duty large bean bag for children, television with DVD. There are plenty of games, puzzles and tourist brochures. It also has a second large oak table with 5 chairs.
One bedroom has a double bed and one has twin beds – M&S Hideaway beds. Childs room has low rail and shelf and travel cot available if required – space for this in either room.
WIFI is available throughout the barn and is operated from a switch in the master bedroom.

External

Access to the woodlands is via a fairly steep climb initially and takes 5 – 10 minutes to walk. Very near the barn and approached via 8 big steps is a small grassed garden with 2 swings for children. This can be approached via the path avoiding steps. The stream is 20 yards beyond the garden and has a large bridge with a hand rail for those who want to cross it when the water level is high. You can hop across normally in the summer.
No smoking and no pets. There are fire alarms fitted throughout together with a fire extinguisher. Phone reception is variable – Vodaphone and O2 usually good.

Old Oak Barn is a converted barn offering self catering accommodation for 4 or 5 people for short breaks of 2 - 7 days in spring, autumn and winter months and weekly (or fortnightly) lets in July and August. The nearest town is St Clears,2 miles by car. A new Co-Op is 5 minutes away. Tesco groceries can be delivered on line. Taxis, hospital, restaurants, railway station, dentist, doctor all in St Clears or Carmarthen 10 miles away.

Terms and Conditions

These are very simple and are heavily weighted in your favour!

Once a booking is made should unforseen circumstances occur and we are unable to let Old Oak Barn we shall refund in full. If travel is restricted because of Covid19 meaning you cannot visit you will get all your money returned. Disclaimer available on request and on display at Old Oak Barn!
